Ó Tuama Tours are the approved providers for Macroom Buffalo Farm Tours. Learn about the origin of the water buffalo species and the story of the Lynch family who first brought 31 animals to Ireland directly from Italy in 2009. Today, he farms over 700 livestock across 5 farms in the region. Pop on your wellies and stroll a country mile with the passionate farm guide and food expert, Dorothy O’Tuama, as she shares her stories, knowledge, and experience of farming life in this region. Experience a real working dairy farm set amongst the soft rolling hills of Killnamartyra in the Gaeltacht region. Be amazed by the majestic buffaloes’ easy pace of life there. Finish with several tasting plates of their signature cheeses such as Mozzarella, Ricotta, Greek Style Salad, and Grilled Halloumi prepared by Dorothy, who happens to be a chef also.
